Lead Bank introduced on-ramp, off-ramp and cross-border FX payout products in an October 20 blog post published while the chartered, FDIC-member bank based in Kansas City, Missouri presented them at Money20/20. The FX payout lets Lead's fintech partners convert dollars from a Lead account into USDC, move the stablecoin on-chain and pay recipients in local currency through domestic rails in 44 countries; recipients do not handle USDC. The products are available only to those partners, not individuals, and payments must be at least $3. Lead's documentation says the FX payout conversion rate is posted after settlement and cannot be retrieved before submission, so a partner sending $500 to Brazil cannot know the reais the supplier will receive in advance.
