Ethereum developers postponed Glamsterdam’s Hoodi testnet activation, which had been scheduled for October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC, the Ethereum Foundation announced on October 22 after All Core Devs Execution call 248. The delay removes both the Amsterdam execution-layer and Gloas consensus-layer activations and cancels a planned Hoodi gas-limit increase to 200 million, with no replacement date set. Glamsterdam includes EIP-8037, which would raise the state cost of a new storage slot from 20,000 to 97,920 gas and a new account from 25,000 to 183,600. ChainSecurity warned that already-deployed contracts relying on post-call gas checks could behave differently, while EIP-8037’s Last Call review ends November 1.
