Ethereum core developers postponed the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, which had been scheduled for October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC, and set no replacement date. The decision at All Core Developers Execution call 248 followed a need for further investigation into how EIP-8037, a gas pricing change that raises the cost of creating state and meters it separately, interacts with smart contracts already running on mainnet. The Hoodi notice had warned contracts relying on fixed gas stipends or hardcoded gas limits may need changes. The postponement removes the Amsterdam execution layer and Gloas consensus layer activations from Hoodi’s configuration, along with a gas limit increase to 200 million, though Hoodi’s chain history is untouched and mainnet users are unaffected.
