Blockchain investigator ZachXBT identified French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the alleged European financial institution behind a crypto theft exceeding $133 million over multiple days. The disclosure followed his earlier investigation into suspicious withdrawals initially estimated at $106 million; funds were withdrawn in USDC and USDT and moved through ETH swaps, instant exchanges, Monero and cross-chain bridges. Bitquery traced $108.8 million in USDC withdrawals from Kraken, Crypto.com and OKX to 15 wallets over 21 hours on Nov. 1-2, and found about $61 million remained on Ethereum as of 13:27 UTC Nov. 3; Tether had frozen about $1.14 million in USDT by Nov. 2. The attacker remains unknown, and ZachXBT said laundering indicators point away from the North Korea-linked Lazarus Group.
