Blockchain investigator ZachXBT said Tuesday that an unnamed Western European financial institution's crypto loss had risen above $133 million from $106 million a day earlier, and alleged the entity was concealing the breach rather than reporting it to EU authorities. He said $27 million in withdrawals moved through exchanges after his Monday disclosure. Analytics firm Bitquery tracked $108.8 million linked to the incident from Kraken, Crypto.com and OKX accounts starting Nov. 1 and said the pattern suggested the attacker held the victim's keys and logins. Under the EU's Digital Operational Resilience Act, in force since Jan. 17, 2025, financial firms must report major tech incidents to supervisors. No victim or regulator has been named, and the cover-up claim is unverified.
