Upbit, South Korea’s largest crypto exchange, recorded 8.35 trillion won (about $6.28 billion) in weekly trading volume for the week ending October 18, 2026, a 15.5% decline, Upbit DataLab reported. XRP was the platform’s most-traded asset for the week, ahead of Bitcoin and USDT, CoinGecko data showed; Korean retail traders have long favored XRP on won-denominated pairs. The drop followed stronger autumn activity, while major South Korean platforms collectively saw a nearly 20% decline the prior week. Lower volume typically means thinner order books, which can amplify price swings when large orders hit the market.
