Unitree founder Wang Xingxing said Wednesday that 2027 will likely mark a turning point for embodied intelligence—AI systems that interact with the physical world—and for robot models, speaking at the 2026 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen. The forecast came a week after the Chinese humanoid robot maker’s first earnings report as a public company showed third-quarter net profit fell 17.4% to 112.7 million yuan, far below analysts’ 224 million yuan estimate, even as revenue rose about 70% to 665 million yuan. Research and development costs climbed 249.6% to 127 million yuan, about 19% of revenue, as Unitree invested in embodied-AI models and computing power.
