Trump threatens to ‘finish off’ Iran as US military buildup intensifies

US President Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview on Sunday that he could order further military strikes on Iran at any time and was deciding between attacking Tehran and pursuing a deal. Qatari mediators visited Tehran the same day to try to bring Washington and Iran back to negotiations, with no breakthrough announced. The United States last confirmed strikes against Iran on September 1, and Trump had indicated that attacks would remain paused until after the November 3 midterm elections. Iranian officials have warned that any new American attack would be met with military retaliation.
