Elon Musk said on Nov. 6, 2026, that Tesla would begin cutting Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas around the middle of next year to make room for more Cybercabs; production was expected to continue until about mid-2027, and Musk did not say when it would end. Tesla does not report Cybertruck sales separately, and outside estimates put third-quarter deliveries of the vehicle at roughly 7,000 to 8,000, far below Musk’s earlier forecast of 250,000 to 500,000 a year. The two-seat, steering-wheel-free Cybercab joined Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet in Austin on Sept. 3, 2026, and the company has begun building Cybercabs in Texas for its own fleet.
