Stellar announced today that it has connected its mainnet to Ethereum through VIA Labs’ cross-chain messaging system, enabling two-way communication between the networks and giving Stellar’s Soroban smart-contract platform direct links to Ethereum. The bridge lets contracts and applications on both chains exchange messages, move supported assets and applications between networks, and coordinate activities across chains, including work with stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets. Stellar said the connection also reduces fragmentation by letting users interact with different blockchain environments, including Ethereum’s. The launch comes as tokenized real-world assets gain traction on Stellar: Securitize, described as the largest tokenization platform, has integrated the network to issue and manage tokenized financial assets, and Pontoro and ArchaxEX have moved tokenized funds there.
