Solana targets faster finality, while Wall Street cuts the cash that must move

The Solana blockchain activated Alpenglow on the Solana mainnet on Oct. 21 at slot 459,653,000, replacing TowerBFT, its prior consensus mechanism, with a new consensus design that targets finality in approximately 150 milliseconds.
