Google Cloud technical problems in its London europe-west2 region beginning at 06:08 UTC on Oct. 20, 2026, disrupted Revolut’s crypto services, card payments and bank transfers. The British fintech marked 27 services as partially unavailable or affected and said customer money and data remained safe. By 17:00 UTC some functions had returned, though most services on Revolut’s UK status page still showed problems; the company later said its disrupted services were restored. Google Cloud said its engineering team was investigating. The incident followed UK authorities’ July 2026 designation of Google Cloud EMEA Limited as a critical third-party supplier to the financial sector.
