Qubic resumed blockchain tick processing at 20:00 UTC on October 19 and opened a claims portal for 1,404 wallets affected by a seed-generation flaw that drained $1.4 million in QU. The attacker took 2.94 trillion QU; the weakness was in seed generation, not the protocol, allowing the attacker to produce valid signatures. Claims are open until May 1, 2027, and a computor quorum, the group responsible for recovery decisions, will decide and implement those actions. Funds were transferred to a secure escrow wallet while the network was unavailable, and web wallets created before the October 19 version 4.26.4 update are insecure and should be replaced.
