Card Ladder’s Pokémon Index grew roughly 40-fold from early 2019 through October 2026, while NVIDIA shares gained about 41-fold over the same period, according to analysts, leaving the two nearly level on that measure. The index averages prices for a basket of cards based on vetted sales across major marketplaces, and it also outpaced Bitcoin and gold. Experts caution that Pokémon cards are riskier than publicly traded equities because of limited liquidity, grading costs and condition, and cannot be sold as quickly as shares; timing shifts can also change the comparison.
