By Friday, 67 companies had objected to OKXICE’s plan to create token versions of their shares, leaving six non-objectors on its list, all crypto businesses: Strategy, Robinhood, Coinbase, Circle, BitGo and Securitize. OKXICE is a joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, owner of the NYSE; it filed a notice on Oct. 4 listing more than 60 stocks, and 56 of the original 62 companies later objected. The venue relies on a Sept. 17 SEC innovation exemption allowing tokenized-securities trading without exchange registration if companies get at least 30 days’ notice and may object within 30 days; no response is treated as consent. OKXICE plans round-the-clock trading, pairing tokens with USDC, USDG or USDT in permissioned pools on X Layer.
