An October 29, 2026, New York Times investigation, citing U.S. intelligence findings, reported that Alice Huang, a former executive at Singapore-based cloud provider Megaspeed, was identified as a Chinese intelligence asset and had a close relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The report said no public evidence implicated Jensen Huang in espionage. Nvidia said Megaspeed received routine business information and that claims about diverted chips were investigated and debunked in 2025, while Chinese embassy called claims groundless. The Commerce Department began investigating Megaspeed in late 2024 and referred the case to the Justice Department in 2026; ImportGenius data showed its Malaysian affiliate bought at least $4.8 billion in AI equipment containing Nvidia technology from June 2024 to February 2026.
