On Monday, Anthropic arranged for six Japanese brokers to offer up to $3.5 billion, or roughly ¥552.9 billion, of its shares to investors in Japan. Mizuho Securities is administrative lead manager for the sale, and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley is manager; the transaction is part of a planned Nasdaq Global Select Market listing under ticker ANT that has been applied for but not approved. A registration statement filed with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau and posted on EDINET on November 2 did not set the Japanese portion’s share count or price, and said the final amount would be determined on a later pricing date. Anthropic, maker of Claude, was founded in 2021 by Dario Amodei and former OpenAI researchers.
