Meta Muse hits 10.2M US downloads as privacy concerns grow

Meta’s Muse app reached 10.2 million downloads in the United States within 40 days of its September launch, and about 10.9 million downloads in the U.S. and Canada, where availability was limited. The app’s seven-day retention was 30%, compared with a 19% average for rivals, and 23% after 14 days versus 16%; daily active users reached 2.5 million on October 16. Claroc researchers found more than 6,800 publicly discoverable links to shared conversations, some exposing personal budgets, internal financial reports and confidential interview preparations. Meta said on October 20 that it would suspend sharing, making tested links inaccessible.
