Malaysia central bank launches DLT platform for tokenized bonds

Malaysia’s central bank has launched a platform that tracks ownership and transfers of tokenized securities. The platform links to Malaysia’s RENTAS+ system to settle the corresponding payments in central bank money. Tokenized securities are digital representations of securities whose ownership and transfer records are maintained on the platform. Central bank money is money issued by a central bank, and RENTAS+ is the Malaysian payments settlement system named in the arrangement.
