KuCoin ends Russia and Belarus services as exchanges retreat under sanctions

Crypto exchange KuCoin stopped providing products and services to customers in Russia and Belarus on October 29, citing unspecified legal and regulatory requirements. It said the halt was immediate and that affected users would be instructed on closing positions and withdrawing funds. MEXC said on October 20 that it would leave Russia and Belarus, while Bitget imposed stricter conditions on October 16 for some accounts in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, with an October 21 withdrawal deadline. The EU had banned crypto use with Russia- and Belarus-registered companies and later extended restrictions to 14 other crypto firms, while the exchanges did not disclose affected customer numbers or possible lost trading volume.
