Kalshi, a prediction market, drew $21.5 billion in trading volume in the week ending October 18, its tenth consecutive record week, while trades surpassed 100 million for the first time at 106.6 million, according to Artemis data. A category labeled “without sports” supplied $17.6 billion, about 82% of volume, though Artemis does not define that bucket; Ticker Tracker data showed combos at $14.35 billion and single-market sports at $3.98 billion. Crypto contracts hit a $2.6 billion high, driven partly by 15-minute up/down contracts on Bitcoin, Ethereum and other tokens. Politics accounted for about 0.06% of volume with Election Day set for November 3.
