Between 23 July and 26 August, BeInCrypto researchers tracked 6.4 million x402 payments across Base and Solana, together worth $119,947; payments averaged roughly 1.9 cents, and more than 90% were below one cent. BeInCrypto’s State of AI Agent Payments 2026 report, sponsored by Zoomex, also cited a separate catalogue review that found web searches and airline reward-seat checks among the most-requested resources. Zoomex said its MCP service, which connects AI applications to exchange tools, lets assistants such as Claude or Cursor examine markets and prepare orders, though customers confirm each order. The report scored micropayments readiness at 60.7 out of 100 and trading and investment agents at 39.1.
