Securitize Japan, the Japanese arm of U.S. tokenization firm Securitize, suffered a cyberattack that exposed customer data held by Sony Bank, NTT Data and Marui Group; the three acknowledged the breach. Securitize Japan found unusual system activity on Oct. 29, 2026, and traced it to an external intruder; Sony Bank detected the incident through an outside contractor on Oct. 30 and identified Securitize Japan on Nov. 4. At Sony Bank, 617 names and four full profiles were exposed and it halted trading in digital securities, financial products whose ownership and rights records are tracked on a blockchain. NTT Data reported leaked corporate-bond buyer data, while Marui Group said up to 9,086 digital-bond applicants were exposed and about 54 bank accounts.
