Grayscale on October 22, 2026 published rankings of 10 crypto assets by tokenholder yield and adjusted earnings yield, with Hyperliquid’s HYPE leading the first at 8.0% and PancakeSwap’s CAKE topping the second at 14.4%. Grayscale calculates tokenholder yield by adding staking rewards and buybacks and subtracting newly issued tokens, meaning issuance can dilute holders even when a protocol generates activity. Five of the 10 tokens had negative holder yields, with Curve Finance’s CRV at -5.5% and Jupiter’s JUP at -2.6%, while JUP’s adjusted earnings yield was 3.5%. Grayscale research head Zach Pandl said Bitcoin resembles digital gold, while many other crypto assets can be valued using cash flows from trading and lending fees.
