On October 21, 2026, Grayscale introduced in-kind transfers allowing eligible investors to contribute cryptocurrency directly in exchange for shares in 10 of its exchange-traded products instead of selling coins for cash first. The eligible products include the Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, Ethereum Staking Mini ETF, Solana Staking ETF, and funds tied to Avalanche, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Sui, XRP and Zcash. Grayscale, which describes itself as the world’s largest digital asset investment platform by assets under management as of September 30, 2026, said the approach can reduce self-custody burdens and execution costs. It said in-kind transactions’ share of U.S. Bitcoin ETP activity rose from 28% in March to 62% in June.
