Germany signed a Joint Declaration of Intent with Nvidia at the opening of the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz urging manufacturers to adopt AI and use industrial data to stay competitive. The economy ministry and Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space joined the agreement, which focuses on bringing AI into German industry, including “physical AI” models for robots, machinery and vehicles. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met Merz at the event; Merz cited Germany’s Mittelstand—small and medium-sized businesses—as a key advantage. Nvidia also plans to back four German startups and work with Siemens on AI-powered factories.
