Gate Introduces Proof Of Security Framework With 104.58% Cold Storage Coverage 

Gate, a digital asset trading platform founded in 2013 by Dr. Han, introduced Proof of Security, or PoSEC, an asset-security verification framework. PoSEC adds disclosure of cold-storage and hot-wallet asset distribution and a cold-storage coverage ratio to reserve checks; a ratio of at least 100% means cold storage alone could cover all user assets if hot-wallet assets were lost. Gate reported a 104.58% cold-storage coverage ratio in a snapshot taken at 00:00 UTC on November 4, 2026, with cold storage and hot wallets holding 88.26% and 11.74% of assets. An independent third-party audit is underway; Gate said total reserves were about $8.688 billion with a 118.49% reserve ratio as of October 18, 2026.
