Jonathan Kanter and Doha Mekki, former heads of the US Justice Department’s antitrust division, launched FluxCap on October 28, 2026, a legal AI startup for plaintiffs’ lawyers and government enforcers, with $6.4 million in seed funding from investors including Y Combinator, Bloomberg Beta and Burford Capital. The company aims to help smaller legal teams pursue complex cases against better-funded opponents. FluxCap’s three connected engines are Almanac, which organizes legal precedents; FluxFacts, which links claims to evidence; and Vision Manager, which helps lawyers refine strategy. Former Palantir lead engineer Marshall Seid is chief technology officer, and the startup is beginning with antitrust while planning other specialties.
