Fireblocks denied a report that Visa was in late-stage talks to acquire it for about $2.5 billion, saying the rumor was new to the company and not true at the time. The crypto custody firm sells software that banks, exchanges and fintechs use to hold and move digital assets, and it averages more than $300 billion in monthly stablecoin volume. Fireblocks raised $550 million in a Series E in January 2022 at an $8 billion valuation and now lists 2,500 enterprise customers, including Revolut and ABN AMRO. The denial followed an Axios Pro report that cited multiple sources.
