Fake election polls expose a Kalshi loophole that could leave traders paying for fraud

Polling firm Wedgewood admitted on Oct. 20 that it had fabricated most of the election surveys it produced. VoteHub, one of the aggregators that carried Wedgewood’s results, also serves as the data source for recurring Kalshi contracts. A September 2025 regulatory filing by Kalshi identifies VoteHub as the source agency for those contracts and refers to revisions to the underlying data. The admission and filing thus involve the same VoteHub data used for the contracts.
