In late October 2026, Elon Musk said lenders have largely stopped financing companies that earn revenue only from AI data centers, and he forecast that most of the more than 200 AI cloud firms will close or be bought. CoreWeave, the largest listed AI cloud company, reported $50 billion in obligations; its $2.75 billion bond due 2031 reached a 15.76% yield, and its shares are about 70% below their peak. CoreWeave Chief Executive Mike Intrator told staff that its backlog more than supports all of its debt obligations.
