Elon Musk Drops Unexpected Reaction as Record-Breaking $6.3 Billion Binance Hack Rattles BTC, ETH, and XRP

Binance disclosed on Thursday a security incident involving about $6.3 billion in crypto assets. Binance’s preliminary findings suggested an attacker may have used a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop to enter a service container and initiate unauthorized withdrawals, with no evidence wallet private keys were exposed. Bitcoin fell more than 3% over 24 hours on Friday, while Ethereum, BNB, XRP and Solana also faced selling pressure; Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said more than 1.567 billion USDT were frozen, and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said more than 800 million USDC were frozen. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, commenting on the incident in an Oct. 30 X post, warned that superintelligent AI agents could eventually do this to gain currency for themselves.
