On Tuesday, an address linked to April’s $295 million Drift Protocol heist deposited 25,700 Ether, worth $61.56 million, into Tornado Cash in two hours. Tornado Cash obscures transfers by allowing later withdrawals to another address, breaking the visible link between sender and recipient. Drift, a Solana protocol, said the April 1 attack used six months of social engineering, not a code flaw; Mandiant attributed it to North Korea-linked UNC6862. An address called Drift Exploiter 4 sent 23,095 ETH, about $44.4 million, to the same mixer on July 23 and 24; about $194 million in Ether remains in hacker wallets. Drift opened DFX token claims on October 1 with a $3.1 million recovery pool and $9.2 million frozen by law enforcement.
