Crypto political action committees have committed about $63 million to oppose Democratic candidate Sherrod Brown in Tuesday’s Ohio special Senate election, including almost $56 million from the Fairshake super PAC and $7.2 million from a PAC funded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, federal filings show. The election decides who serves the remainder of JD Vance’s Senate term; Governor Mike DeWine appointed Republican Jon Husted in January 2025. An October 28 Suffolk University/USA TODAY Network poll of 500 likely voters put Brown ahead 47% to 44%, within the 4.4-point margin of error. Fairshake spent about $40 million in 2024 helping Bernie Moreno defeat Brown, who as Banking Committee chairman declined to take up crypto bills the House sent over.
