LG CNS, LG Group’s IT arm and lead contractor on the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang digital currency platform, said on Oct. 22, 2026 it would partner with Chainlink to support won-pegged stablecoins and institutional digital asset infrastructure in South Korea. LG CNS will add Chainlink’s cross-chain, data and orchestration technology to its Digital Asset Platform Solution, connecting blockchain networks with institutional systems; Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that feeds smart contracts data. The companies estimate the won stablecoin segment has more than 11 million eligible users in a $68 billion Korean market. South Korea lacks a legal basis for commercial won stablecoins, and the Digital Asset Basic Act is in final government review before legislative discussion in November 2026.
