Bitget acquires GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics in Thailand expansion push

Bitget has announced plans to acquire GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a Bangkok-based licensed digital asset exchange and brokerage, through its interest in BTGT Management (Thailand) Ltd. GMO Internet, Inc. and its consolidated subsidiary GMO-Z.com Holdings (Thailand) Co., Ltd., among others, would transfer all of their shares in the Thai company to BTGT Management and/or a designated entity when the deal closes. Completion of the sale and purchase agreement depends on regulatory approval and other conditions. Bitget intends the purchase to provide local operating capacity in Thailand; after closing and receiving approval for the change of control, it plans to make its trading platform available to Thai users while complying with Thai rules.
