Bitcoin hovered near $81,600 after sellers again blocked it below $86,000 to $90,000, extending a pattern of lower peaks since late September and testing support around the $80,000 area. The cryptocurrency had remained in a broad rising channel from June lows near $58,000, but repeated failures at $86,000 to $87,000 pushed it back toward the channel midpoint. CryptoQuant's Spot Average Order Size metric showed large orders still dominating spot trading, with little retail participation since a breakdown near $90,000 in late 2025; the measure tracks order size, not whether buyers or sellers are behind it. A daily close below the channel midline would bring the $75,000 to $78,000 area into focus.
