Bitcoin dropped under $80,000 on Monday, and analyst Benjamin Cowen said two of nine steps in his bearish 2026 roadmap have been met: a weekly finish below $83,000 and a reversed breakout, or fakeout, on October 25. The plan next depends on the Federal Open Market Committee not raising rates at its October 28 meeting and on a hot September Personal Consumption Expenditures inflation reading from the Bureau of Economic Analysis on October 29. It also calls for Brent crude near $120, after settling at $116.72 Friday, and the 10-year Treasury yield to return to 5.3% from 5.10% on October 15. Cowen said the view is void if Bitcoin regains and holds $83,000.
