Binance confirmed earlier today that it was hit by a major hack, with other reports saying more than $6 billion had been drained from the cryptocurrency platform. The disclosure triggered a broad digital-asset selloff, and bitcoin fell to $76,350 for the first time since September 18 before recovering to just over $78,000. Liquidated positions totaled $1.52 billion over 24 hours, including $1.36 billion after the Binance hack, with nearly 240,000 traders affected and long positions accounting for most losses. Bitcoin and Ethereum accounted for $482 million and $365 million in liquidations respectively, while the largest single order, on Binance, was worth more than $11 million.
