Two years after Alejandra Corbella delivered 100 verifications in San Francisco as one of Worldcoin's first orb operators in California, Tools for Humanity hired her to lead in-person community expansion across San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta and Miami. The company builds World, the project co-founded by Sam Altman that launched globally in July 2023 and uses an eye-scanning orb and World ID to let people prove they are human without revealing their identity. Kenya suspended Worldcoin's operations over data concerns in 2023, and regulators in other countries including Indonesia later followed. Over ten months in her role, Corbella ran more than 40 activations; World also reported that more than 18 million people had been verified by an orb.
