The Bank of Russia on Friday approved Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, for legal trading by non-qualified retail investors, with authorized platforms allowed to list them after a directive takes effect on November 17. Purchases through brokers, asset managers or exchanges are capped at 300,000 rubles a year per intermediary, or less than $3,700 at the current rate. The Moscow Exchange and Sberbank plan to begin coin trading on December 1.
