An Argentine federal judge dismissed the LIBRA case against President Javier Milei and 10 others, including his sister Karina, Hayden Davis, Mauricio Novelli and Julian Peh. Judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi found in a 60-page ruling that the meme coin’s promotion and collapse did not by themselves prove criminal deception, and Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano had requested the dismissal. Milei promoted LIBRA on X on February 14, 2025; its market value briefly exceeded $4.5 billion before falling about 95% within hours, while eight team-linked wallets cashed out $107 million. Critics, including opposition deputy Maximiliano Ferraro, called the ruling a cover-up. The court archived the case, but excluded plaintiffs have asked the Federal Cassation Court to reinstate them, potentially opening an appeal.
