Apple said on October 20, 2026, that it will spend as much as $100 million over three years to buy titanium from Perryman Company for the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable phone. Perryman, a family-owned metals company in Pennsylvania, melts, forges and rolls grade 5 titanium at its Houston, Pennsylvania, mill; Apple said the material contains at least 80 percent recycled content. Perryman is joining Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, launched the previous year to bring advanced component work to the United States. Apple announced the iPhone Duo on September 9; orders opened October 16 and in-store availability begins October 23.
