Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments and a member of BeInCrypto’s Market Intelligence Expert Council, said in an Oct. 21 post on X that AI had surpassed the best human minds in mathematics and become a new apex predator. He cited the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad, where Huawei and Xiaohongshu models scored 42 out of 42, while only seven of 666 human contestants matched that result. In early October, OpenAI said an unreleased model returned 722 manuscripts from about 4,000 open problems, though it cautioned not every proof was independently verified. Stanford researchers also found 22- to 25-year-olds in highly AI-exposed jobs were employed 19% below their expected trend, up from 15% a year earlier, because of fewer hires.
